thematic photographic: white

Carmi over at Written Inc. is again hosting Thematic Photographic,
and the theme for this week is "white."
After looking through my photo library of countless snow pictures, I was reminded of this one after visiting Bossy's place this morning. Thanks for the inspiration, Bossy!

  1. OMG what a sweetie! This is what I loved about having a cat - the curled-in-a-ball peacefulness of their existence.

I think I would have had an easier time photographically if ours hadn't been black. His fur literally ate light, and it was hell to shoot him properly as a result. I miss his nuttiness, but this photo takes me right back to what it felt like. Lovely shot indeed!

  2. Thanks! I know what you mean about the black ones...we have two black labs who have given me an education in lighting!

  3. A good challenge is always welcome...it forces us out of our comfort zone. I'd get another black-furred pet in a heartbeat.

As it is, we rescued a miniature schnauzer. He was so filthy and matted when we got him that we thought he was black. After 3 hours of hard labor on him, our groomer discovered he was actually silver-colored. Poor thing hadn't been so much as brushed for six months! Thankfully he's a happy, well adjusted puppy now, and our kids adore the ground he walks on. He likes them just a little, too :)

(Your link on my blog worked perfectly, btw. One day, I'll figure out how all this stuff works!)
